Trivia | News | Rumors

Congrats to the Cobbfather owner who won an MiLB award this season. Big news!!! Keep at it man!

After tying the record last year, EK sets a Cobbfather record for his 12th straight 100+ win season. Whose next?

Tim Horton's stock takes a huge dive due to the commissioner of Cobbfather stepping down. Photos were released on TMZ of him at a Krispy Kreme following the departure. NASA vows to send Tim Horton himself to Mars.

Moving on to team records. We are changing things up a bit and working on a post from earlier this season about including stats from the last 20 seasons. For this season that goes back to S41. We'll move forward with a 20 season rolling clock to see which team owns records based on the last two decades of play. Hard to beat some of those early seasons (1-13) before there were tweaks to the game engine. Underlined and bold teams are records from this season.

S61 Top Players

Jack Torrance - Contributing Reporter

S61 Top Players

Last year we grouped players by position with their Cash Points (fantasy baseball points), perhaps one year we'll add back in the stats like extra base hits (xBH), Weighted Runs Above Average (wRAA), weighted On-Base Average (wOBA), weighted runs created plus (wRC+), weighted stolen bases (wSB). For pitchers we could do Adjusted ERA (100 is league average), etc. But for now it's just the Cash Points. Bold names indicate Silver Slugger. Underlined names indicate Gold Glove Winners. ALL CAPS INDICATE MVP/CY YOUNG WINNER. Italicized names indicate Rookie of the Year.

Best Recent Hitter - Alex Tarraga vs Omar Gonzales

 Jack Torrance - contributing reporter

Everybody knows the name Alex Tarraga in Cobbfather lore, but as we approach the retirement of Omar Gonzales who was truly the better player? Let's do a quick comparison. But remember, OG is still playing so we'll see how much he has left in the tank. By awards, AT has it in the bag, but if you look at the other stats; it's much closer or even favors OG. By the time Omar retires, we think the top player will still be considered Alex Tarraga. I'm sure at some point we'll be comparing the two with Kyle Crain, WYW, Weiss, or Dario Lester; but we'll see if they can keep up numbers or not.
